Melusinia came into being more than a year a half ago, destined for warmer climes, but after a brief vacation in the south, she decided to return to the cooler waters of Lake Ontario. However, this winter has been the last straw for her. She has packed her favorite box with memories and dreams and is requesting a new location; she doesn't care where. (I suspect a merman is involved in her decision, but she won't confirm or deny the allegations.)

It's been a while since I talked about them, so I thought I'd rebroadcast some of the great things QuEST has been doing.

As you may remember from my post in June, QuEST has a team shop which, at the moment, is donating all profits to The Trevor Project. So far we've made just under $100 for them and would like to give them more. If you are able, please head over to our shop, check out the great items for sale there, and buy one to make your donation!

More recently we've been collecting items to donate to the Human Rights Campaign which will be auctioned off at their National Dinner in Washington DC this fall. There's some really great stuff pouring in for it; I donated one of my necklaces, similar to this one, and this postcard:

I can't wait to see what else ends up in the basket... And how much it goes for! ^-^

We're planning so many other wonderful things! Be sure to keep up-to-date with all the happenings by Liking our Facebook page and adding our blog to your reader!

Discussion with another team I'm on brought up some questions that I've been pondering for a while. As you might have noticed, my store leans to the cute side. So much so that I felt it was a stretch to include my paintings and drawings which aren't always so cute, including things like zombie mermaids, naked goddesses, and elephant headed gods. Aaannnd I'm getting into drawing more risqué stuff now too, which have I not posted anywhere for sale yet...

So my questions are: Should I open a second shop for the not-so-cute items? Or should I keep it all in one place? Would having a second shop multiply my potential customers or halve them? Would the not-so-cute things drive potential customers away? Would it make my *brand* too diverse? Should I break it down even more and have 3 shops: art, risqué things, and the current cuteness?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
