Chocolate

This weekend, Jacqueline and I had to head into Syracuse, and we decided to splurge on some of my favorite chocolates: a bag of Lindt Excellence 70% Cocoa. They are *so* good! SEVEN squares is a serving, but I only have one each night before bed, which is only 30 small calories, but SO worth it.

While we were in the store, I saw a big bar called Creation 70% Cherry Chili made of course with my favorite 70% cocoa chocolate but filled with a layer of soft, whipped truffle, and a smooth chili-cherry gel, and we decided to splurge on that too. It's *really* good. The gel has a sweet cherry flavor that is followed by a nice warmth. It's not too spicy or savory, just a warmth that spreads across your tongue and the back of your throat. It has about 74 calories per square... You should definitely try them if you have a Lindt store near you or you should order them online!

And why aren't they paying me for this??? LOL!

This site is pretty cool! You know how online stores always have that place at the checkout for you to use your coupon codes? Well this website, CouponChief.com, has gathered all those codes in one place for you! They have coupons for different stores, like JoAnn Fabrics, Lane Bryant, and PetCo, and for different categories, like books and magazines, electronics, and music and DVDs... So if you’re doing your normal online shopping, don’t forget to stop there first and see if they have any codes you can use! I’m gonna check out the deals for flea meds in their pet supply section...

Meadow

Our landlord is a meanie. We've been rather happy letting our lawn just grow and grow since we can't get the mowers to work anyway. We have the most beautiful flowers: orange & yellow hawkweek, white & purple clover, daisies, daisy flea bane, pointed blue-eyed grass, rough-fruited cinquefoil, white campion, common speedwell, dandelions, even wild basil... so many pretty weeds... (More plants here...)

I wish all the flowers showed up better... (Feeder needs filling...)

Again I wish the flowers showed up better... You can see some of the small bare patches...

That's what happens in the country you know. I don't think anyone ever planted any *real* grass on the property... And the snow left big brown patches of death that are finally getting smaller and greener. All the grasses have gone to seed, and I imagine are spreading throughout the yard. (Yay! Free grass seed!) But now the meanie landlord says we have to mow. And we can't have our garden in the very best spot in the yard because the leech field is there. Poop. (Ha ha, no pun was intended, but it's there! LOL!) Back to square one.

Remember the other week when I posted about the new police cd? (Click here to refresh your memory...) Well the first 100 posties (that’s what they call us) would actually win the CD, and guess what... I DID! YAY! I got all kinds of nifty things too! Look:

The Booty

Bunny is very upset that there was nothing for her...

There’s a little tin of bright green PayPerPost Putty, a tin of mints (yum), a big green foamy finger, a t-shirt that says “i used to be a stripper” and of course the best part of all: The CD! YAY!

There are SO many good songs on this police cd, I can’t pick out just one. So many memories... Of course my favorite is Roxanne. My mom and I used to sing it to the little fish I had named after the song, and of course the very moving cover done in Moulin Rouge is one of my faves... And I love love love Don’t Stand So Close to Me! And Every Little Thing She Does is Magic... And Walking in Your Footsteps... And, and, and... LOL!

There’s really no other popular band or singer that sound like the Police do: a little reggae, a little ska, some jazz and punk rock... Andy Summers, Stewart Copeland, and Sting all brought their own influences to their albums... And no one sounds like Sting does. Not even his son. And think of all the groups they have influenced! Think of Men At Work, The Outfield, Geggy Tah... (you do remember Geggy Tah, right? *grinz*)

How can you *not* want to go see this band play live??? You can win a New York fly-away to see The Police live! Just click here:

Well, we're still here obviously. I have been so busy I haven't had a chance to do anything I really wanted to get done. But I did manage to do some PPPs so that's a little more money in the bank... 30 days from now... Tomorrow I need to do laundry and dishes and maybe get the lawn mowers down to dad to see if he can fix them... Of course I should probably save the gas... We shall see...

Well, *this* is a new twist on those contest and prize give-away sites! Check out whogets.com... They have tons of different prizes (DVDs, iPods, jewelry, clothes...), it’s free to join, and you don’t get inundated with spam! Here’s how it works: for each prize, there is a limited time when everyone can sign up to win, then, and here’s the twist, seven of those people are chosen at random to write a maximum of 100 words telling why they need, want, or deserve the prize, or they can write nothing at all. Then people vote for who they think should get the prize! Just like American Idol or Dancing with the Stars! *YOU* get to pick the winner! Such a cool idea...
